Easy Tips for Balancing Summer & Your Health
Summer is like a marathon, if you sprint at the start, you'll burn out before the end. Today, we're getting into our top tips for making the fun-health balance a whole lot easier.
Let's start with our top tip: the 50% by midday habit.
What is the 50% by midday habit?
Do these 5 things by midday and you'll be ahead of the Summer health balancing game. Do all of this BEFORE lunch.
1. Get in 20 grams of fibre (your blends pack 10 to 12 grams!)
2. Eat 40% of your daily protein (eg. if you have a 100 gram per day target, get in 40 with breakfast and a morning snack).
3. Drink 4 glasses of water or herbal teas (that's 1 Litre).
4. Move or get your sweat session in: get into morning movement. if you can't do a full 30 minutes or more, start with 20 minutes - fast pace walking, yoga, jogging - even 20 minutes will have big benefits for your body and mind.
5. Wait one hour after waking to drink coffee or caffeinated teas - even on sluggish mornings. This lets your cortisol levels (which build during sleep) drop down naturally vs further spiking (morning anxiety or anxiousness can be made worse with caffeine consumption).
Keep your energy levels up, or boost them, with these foods (incorporate at least 2 per day into your diet):
