Blended For Younger Children, the Elderly & Immune Compromised
We’ve had several questions about which blends would be good for younger children, the elderly and people with a weakened immune system. Our blends are already complete nutrition meals; you can be assured of their high quality ingredients and nutritional value.
These are the questions we ask and recommend you consider when helping people choose smoothies for anyone falling into these sets:
1. Which taste profiles will they enjoy? Greens, Berry, Choco-nutty types? People enjoying their smoothie blends is a big deal and usually going to be the win for adopting a long term daily healthy smoothie habit.
2. Texture: often the smoothies containing banana are preferred because they soften down to a pudding-like texture and can be easily thawed/eaten straight from the pack (or served in a bowl) with a spoon.
3. Consider cold sensitivity: cold is often a sensitivity, so we suggest letting it thaw to just above room temp if this is a concern. Mix well if straight from the pack with a spoon. If blending, let it sit for 15 to 30 minutes post-blend before enjoying.
4. Avoid smoothies containing these boosters & ingredients: spirulina, dandelion, chlorophyll, cayenne, which can be upsetting to sensitive systems.
